The Story
The committee held a public hearing on January 7, 1992. It was introduced on January 8, 1992 and referred to the House Environment and Agriculture committee. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 11, 1992 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 19, 1992 and was referred to the Senate Environment committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 24, 1992 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 7, 1992 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 21, 1992 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 29, 1992, making it Chapter 105 of the session laws. It took effect on April 29, 1992.
