The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 1992 and referred to the House Fish and Game committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 5, 1992. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 16–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 3, 1992 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 4, 1992 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 19, 1992. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 16, 1992 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 6, 1992 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 8, 1992, making it Chapter 171 of the session laws. It took effect on June 7, 1992.
