HB 757-FN (1991)

repealing the law relative to employment offices.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1991-1992
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 296

The Story

It was introduced on February 5, 1991 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 19, 1991 the House adopted “Suspend Rules to consider on 03/19/1991”, on a motion by Rep. Gross & Chambers. On March 19, 1991 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 1991 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 30, 1991. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On May 21, 1991 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 28, 1991 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 12, 1991 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 20, 1991, making it Chapter 296 of the session laws. It took effect on August 19, 1991.
