The Story

It was introduced on February 5, 1991 and referred to the House Fish and Game committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 26, 1991. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 10–5. On March 7, 1991 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/13/1991” on a voice vote. On March 13, 1991 the House adopted “Recommit” on a voice vote. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 12–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 19, 1991 the House adopted “Suspend Rules to consider on 03/19/1991”, on a motion by Rep. Gross & Chambers. On March 19, 1991 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 1991 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 2, 1991. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 9, 1991 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 14, 1991 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 20, 1991, making it Chapter 144 of the session laws. It took effect on July 19, 1991.
