  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1991-1992
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Ways and Means
  • Subject: Housing

The Story

It was introduced on February 5, 1991 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 21, 1991. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 19, 1991 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 1991 and was referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 4, 1991. The majority recommended that the Senate pass it, and the minority recommended that the Senate kill it. On May 28, 1991 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 12, 1991 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 20, 1991, making it Chapter 293 of the session laws. It took effect on August 19, 1991.
