The Story

The committee held a public hearing on May 2, 1991. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On May 14, 1991 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote. On May 16, 1991 the Senate adopted “Take from Table” on a voice vote. On May 16, 1991 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote. On May 21, 1991 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 28, 1991 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. On June 20, 1991 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On June 20, 1991 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 26, 1991 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 2, 1991, making it Chapter 369 of the session laws. It took effect on July 2, 1991.
