HB 348 (1991)

relative to the municipal records board.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1991-1992
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments
  • Subject: Municipalities
  • Chapter law: 197

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 1991 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 12, 1991. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 19, 1991 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 1991 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 23, 1991. On May 15, 1991 the Senate adopted “Suspend Rules to consider”, on a motion by Sen. Fraser. On May 15, 1991 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 21, 1991 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 28, 1991, making it Chapter 197 of the session laws. It took effect on July 27, 1991.
