The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 1990 and referred to the Senate Development, Recreation and Environment committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 9, 1990. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On February 1, 1990 the Senate voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the House on February 8, 1990 and was referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 7, 1990. The committee held work sessions on March 14, 1990 and March 15, 1990. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 12–2. On April 3, 1990 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 10, 1990 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes. The bill was enrolled on April 19, 1990 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 27, 1990, making it Chapter 239 of the session laws. It took effect on April 27, 1990.
