The Story
It was introduced on January 31, 1989 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 21, 1989. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee by a vote of 8–6. On March 21, 1989 the bill was referred to the Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee met in executive session on October 31, 1989 to vote on its recommendation. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 9–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 4, 1990 the House voted to kill it.
