The Story
It was introduced on January 31, 1989 and referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 7, 1989. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee unanimously, 15–0. On March 23, 1989 the bill was referred to the Transportation committee. The committee held work sessions on September 19, 1989, September 26, 1989 and October 24, 1989. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 14–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 4, 1990 the House voted to kill it.
