The Story
It was introduced on January 3, 1990 and referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 10, 1990. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends by a vote of 11–5. On February 14, 1990 the House voted to study it after the session ends on a roll call 263–59. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Ought to Pass”, by a vote of 16 to 0.
