relative to penalties for DWI offenses.

  • Status: Referred for interim study
  • Term: 1989-1990
  • House committee: Judiciary
  • Subject: Crimes, Criminal Procedure and Corrections

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 1990 and referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 10, 1990. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends by a vote of 12–6, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on February 14, 1990. On February 14, 1990 the House rejected a motion to pass it with changes on a division vote 88–225, on a motion by Rep. Spencer. On February 14, 1990 the House voted to study it after the session ends on a voice vote. The committee held work sessions on April 10, 1990 and September 17, 1990. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Inexpedient to Legislate”, by a vote of 10 to 2.
