The Story

On January 23, 1990 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on January 23, 1990 and was referred to the Senate Development, Recreation and Environment committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 20, 1990. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment () was adopted on March 22, 1990, changing the text of the bill. A floor amendment () was adopted on March 22, 1990, changing the text of the bill. On March 22, 1990 the Senate voted to pass it with changes. On April 10, 1990 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment () was adopted on April 19, 1990. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on April 19, 1990 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 27, 1990, making it Chapter 229 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 1991.
