This toll bridge is not popular in the area, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel because, as soon as the bonds are paid off, the toll will end. The payment of principal and interest of the bonds and notes issued for the purchase and rehabilitation of the Cheshire Bridge authorized in section 1 of this act shall be made from the highway fund of the state.\n\n69:2 Elimination of Toll Booths; Lapse of Account. 1988, 251:4-a as inserted by 1991, 318:5 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:\n\n251:4-a Elimination of Toll Booths; Lapse of Account.\n\nI. Upon the effective date of the amendment of this paragraph toll collection on the Cheshire Bridge shall cease.\n\nII. All funds remaining from toll collections after the removal of the toll booths pursuant to paragraph I shall lapse into a special account set up for this purpose within the highway fund. The special account shall be used to pay debt service on the bonds and notes issued for the purchase and rehabilitation of the Cheshire Bridge. Any interest earned on such funds shall also be available to pay debt service on the bonds and notes issued for the purchase and rehabilitation of the Cheshire Bridge.\n\n69:3 Effective Date.
