Committee — REFER FOR INTERIM STUDY
The committee recommendation is to Refer for Interim Study. We support this legislation in principle and believe its intent to support the cultural background of children placed in foster care has merit. However the fiscal note is a concern and there are some questions as to administrative requirements for training advocacy, and monitoring. The committee intends to form an ad hoc committee to address these concerns and will look to the Foster Care Oversight Subcommittee within the Oversight Commission on Children’s Services for input and recommendations. We look to improve the current bill and bring forth new legislation next year. Vote 15-0.
