Committee — REFER FOR INTERIM STUDY
It is the position of the committee, at this time, that it is best to Interim Study this bill, as there is currently an active bicameral, bipartisan, stakeholder commission studying the costs of special education with a final report due out in July 2026. It is possible that given the various and broad charges of that commission, aspects similar to the intent of this bill will come up for study and/or potentially come forward as a finding within the commission. Given that the NH Department of Education is currently reevaluating and reconfiguring its data/reporting system, this bill, while well intentioned, may duplicate efforts already underway. Vote 15-1.
