Committee — OUGHT TO PASS WITH AMENDMENT
This bill seeks to add language to RSA 39:2 that speaks to how warrant articles at town meetings are described. In its original version, the bill sought to include words and phrases such as “deception” and “deliberate ambiguity.” An amendment to the bill modified that language to retain the intent of the bill while not impugning motive to local officials. The amended language achieves the intent of the bill – to ensure that warrant articles are properly worded – by requiring that they be “stated clearly and without commentary.” Vote 17-0.
