Committee — OUGHT TO PASS WITH AMENDMENT
Timber cut in Quebec can be graded and sold spruce-pine-fir (SPF) for a higher price, despite being materially identical to timber from Northern New Hampshire. This bill establishes that timber harvested above the 44th parallel is of equivalent quality to Quebec timber and therefore receives the same designation. The change is intended to support local loggers and sawmills by allowing fair market treatment of New Hampshire timber. The amendment was a replaceall amendment. Vote 16-0.
