Presently if an individual turns 21 over a weekend or an extended holiday weekend, their vertical youth license expires, and they are not able to apply for their adult horizontal license until the next business day that DMV is open. Right now, their only option is to re-apply for a youth license which means they either keep the vertical youth license for another five years, or they keep it for only a few days and re-apply for the adult horizontal license, either scenario is not optimal. This bill allows for a 60-day temporary license which will see them through until they are able to receive the horizontal adult license. Vote 15-0.
