Committee — OUGHT TO PASS
The committee heard testimony from county attorneys who informed us that this update to the statute is necessary to them to be able to prosecute crimes using the new technology related to the chips embedded in most new payment cards vs just mag strips in the current law. Having heard no opposing testimony or receiving any information that would lead us to believe that implementing this change would not be beneficial. Vote 12-0.
