Committee — OUGHT TO PASS
The committee unanimously recommends Ought to Pass on this bill. This legislation was created at the request of the department which handles these cases and is a proactive measure. By ensuring that National Guard personnel have better privacy safeguards vis-a-vis civilians, this bill encourages reporting and support-seeking, while reinforcing fairness and trust within the guard. The committee recognizes the importance of this legislation in supporting both victims and response professionals and strongly supports its passage as a proactive step to strengthen confidentiality protections and promote the well-being of those who serve. Vote 14-0.
