Committee — OUGHT TO PASS
The committee supports this change as it aligns Belknap County’s election cycle with that of Rockingham and Coos Counties, which have already transitioned to four-year terms for elected county positions. The committee believes that extending the terms of these offices will provide greater continuity and stability within county departments, allowing elected officials sufficient time to implement policies, oversee long-term projects, and maintain consistent leadership. Vote 15-1.
