This bill made edits to definitional language in the dig safe statute that increase ambiguity and weaken safety protocols that the dig safe program was designed to ensure. The testimony from DigSafe and New Hampshire utilities was consistent and emphatic in their opposition to this bill. The program is working as designed and does not benefit from tinkering with existing language. The committee agreed this is a case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ Vote 14-0.
