Committee — INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE
This bill would repeal the 1983 manufactured housing statute that would require municipalities provide for manufactured housing opportunities within their jurisdiction. This statute was expanded in 2024 that states municipalities must provide “reasonable and realistic” opportunities for siting manufactured housing in residential zones and allow for “reasonable and realistic” opportunities to expand existing manufactured housing parks. Under current law, municipalities retain the ability to zone manufactured housing in 50+1% of residential zones allowing them discretion on where they would like to allow manufactured housing. The committee believes that during this housing shortage manufactured housing is a key piece to the puzzle by providing safe, energy efficient, and affordable housing for working class Granite Staters. Vote 17-0.
