Committee — INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE
The committee on Housing believes this bill is not needed at this time. This bill would add the requirements that municipalities must approve of off-site parking for accessory dwelling units when there is no on-site parking available. The current law states that the property owner of the ac cessory dwelling unit may demonstrate there are adequate parking options in the vicinity of the property and the municipality must accept those options. The Housing Committee recently passed, and the Governor signed into law, comprehensive parking reform and this bill would roll back this reform and therefore is not needed at this time. Vote 17-0.
